Four years of fighting Nazis and defying death. I loved it a lot more than I should have.

i never asked — never wanted — to be captain america. but that mask, those stars and stripes, that shield…they change you. i can see now the burden that steve’s always carried. and it feels strange to admit i want that burden back… but underneath it all, what i really know is…i want to deserve it…somehow.
All of Bucky’s family feels. Right click and hit open in new tab for larger view, have box of tissues prepped.
it took me weeks to get used to the idea that he considered me an equal…a part of the team. but before i realized it, we were like brothers.
i believe in you, steve. i believe in captain america. all that hooey about symbol of liberty, fighting american, — even someone like me could fall for it… i guess ‘cause we need a captain america. i need a captain america.
i’m sorry i wasn’t there with you.
sometimes i think if you didn’t have me there wouldn’t be a single person in the world who really understood you
steve rogers decides to have fun…it’s not just christmas…it’s a christmas miracle.
stop, i have fun.
when?
remember when i punched hitler? that was fun.
yeah, okay.he was my partner damn it, he was my friend.
remember who you are.
he was my link…now…what have i got left? nothing.
don’t let bucky drift back into anger and confusion. he has a chance at a new life - help him find his way. save him for me.
i miss a lot of people, but him more than anyone.
i knew it. i knew you were still in there.
and i think if bucky doesn’t keep wearing that uniform…if he doesn’t keep being captain america…i think he may die…and i couldn’t live with that. even if it means i have to sacrifice a future i want.
i was never prouder than when i saw him pick up that shield to carry on in my place.

Day 10: Hottest non-canon couple: Bucky/Steve
I don’t care if it’s movie or comics, if Bucky has both hands or not, that is a sandwich I want to be in the middle of.
i believe in you, steve. i believe in captain america. all that hooey about symbol of liberty, fighting american — even someone like me could fall for it… i guess ‘cause we need a captain america. i need a captain america.
bucky barnes was the best brother-in-arms any soldier ever had. he was braver than me because he didn’t have any serum making him stronger and faster, but he never hesitated, never faltered. he always thought he had to live up to my expectations, to the symbols i represented, but i don’t think i could’ve done it without him.
